Elder Matthew Sant

 Olá! Tudo bem?  I haven't had a Pday in a little while so I'll be covering the past two weeks in this email. On Monday, I said bye to the family and flew out to Dallas where I met up with all of my district except for my comp, Elder Schreiner who flew by himself. We had like a 6 hour layover so we all talked and had a district dinner. My district is awesome and super cool! I love them all and we're super close.  We had a 10 hour flight to Sao Paulo. Then a bus ride to the CTM. I felt super nauseous on the bus and I threw up right when we got to the CTM and then they immediately started taking pictures of the arriving missionaries so . Yep  The Brazilians are honestly my favorite part of thr past two weeks. They're a lot of fun and super patient with our Portuguese. They showed us around a small part of the city and taught us a whole bunch of slang. I learned more talking to them the first day than in two weeks of Portuguese classes.  The days ha...

  Olá. Tudo bem? This week I started my first week of virtual MTC! MTC stands for Missionary Training Center. The church has 10 MTCs in Utah, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, England, Ghana, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, and South Africa. I’ll do one more week virtual, then I leave for Brazil MTC for 4 more weeks of training. After that, I’ll leave for São Paulo Oeste, my assigned area where I’ll be serving for two years. São Paulo is basically the New York of Brazil only much bigger. During this time, my purpose as a missionary will be to help people build their faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything I do as a missionary must be focused on that purpose. As such, I won’t be able to date, watch movies, or do anything that doesn’t help me fulfill my purpose.
